11/9/2023 0 Comments Plexamp review![]() ![]() I'll do my best :) I apologize if this gets long. Thank you Elan and the entire Plex and Plexamp team. I learned a lot from having him around, and knowing how much he cares about the app fills me with comfort about its longevity. Special thanks to Plex CTO Elan Feingold for being present and active on this subreddit. I’ve been using last.fm since 2008 (!) and having reliable scrobbling is a must-have in a music player. I just started playing with those recently and they’re freakin amazing. Time Travel Radio and Sonic Adventure stations.I don’t add TIDAL albums to my library because I don’t yet understand how that works or how obvious it is which albums I own and which are from TIDAL. ![]() When I want easy discovery, I’ll switch to the TIDAL source (I wish the switch was easier than having to go to settings) and look for Plex Picks and Top Albums on the home page. Plex got me into TIDAL and it’s the only streaming service I pay for. I will often look for Sonically Similar Albums at the bottom of an album’s page, or see similar tracks to a track that’s currently playing. I also download many of my favorite albums, and even saved playlists that I generated using. I get home before the playlist is played through, so I transfer it over to Plexamp on my Mac which plays to my much nicer office speakers. Along the way we stopped by Joe Cocker, The Rolling Stones, Patti Smith Group, and Iggy and The Stooges. Plexamp takes me on a journey from “Louie Louie” performed by The Troggs, to “Running” by Baby Huey, to “Love Buzz” by Nirvana.
